>>195588That happened to me in my first month of rolling. Well, I didn't break a rib but I had a pretty nasty intercostal strain. It happened when I exhaled the wrong way at the wrong time on bottom. Since then I've learned to breathe better and protect myself better. Keep a little bit of pressure in your thorax when you're in vulnerable positions on bottom. Learn to recognize when you're bearing the brunt of his weight, and don't take full breaths, just sip some air. Learn to breathe and brace, and power breathe. And yeah, get stronger abs and get stronger generally. Doing the big compound lifts will actually help you learn to breathe and brace while moving. Also, don't know about your gym, but at my gym no one would look down on you for declining a roll with a much bigger guy, or asking to start on top if we're doing positional rounds. Be smart, train constructively not destructively.

>>195701If 2.0”+ is an option, there no need to limit yourself to the meme tire of the month, if he’s riding XC-grade stuff then XC-grade tires are appropriate even on a gravel bike. >>195702A black diamond trail, just checked it on Trailforks. Those fuckers.
>>195703Agreed, that's why I got the Barzos. They won't turn a gravel bike into an XC bike, but they make it so much easier to get up and down trails
Just spend the extra $18 on good tires do you work at a bike shop or something this isn’t high finance, how much savings does it take for you to compromise something as important as tires? Bet you have no problems dropping $200 for some aluminum that doesn’t change anything about your bike, why skimp whatsoever on tires?
>>195710Meant for the “bike park” edition tire topic; as far as I know Michelin’s bike park edition solely exists to save money, not necessarily cater to firm-terrain DH-only applications. If there’s any kind of a performance loss in your tire, it’s not worth a $20 savings, just like hard compound is not worth a $80 savings from not wearing your tires down

Modern skateboarding fucking sucks. Everyone skates like a robot: same tricks, same style (both clothing and trick execution), everyone at the skateparks are way too serious and tryhard. Nobody carves or has any real style, just the same in-line tight truck 5 approved tricks tried endlessly in a row.How do we make skateboarding like 1988-1992 again? Bright day glo colors, giant ass fish boards with rails, tricks that are whatever the fuck you felt like doing that day and who fucking cares if you drag a hand or a toe as long as you surf out of it. People used to all have a sense of humor and goof around and improvise halfway through a trick, not stand around like soulless autistic robots and give up if the autism flip didn't land perfect in the sperg grind. And for the love of fuck, they listened to ROCK and METAL, not this horseshit faggot ass trap music rap bullshit.Skateboarding used to be rad as fuck and whatever gay shit it is today isn't worth being around. I don't see any tricks around today that weren't being done back then, it just had more pizzaz then.Like, watch this part and tell me you aren't 1000x more amped to skate than some bullshit dropped today: https://youtu.be/3c7XV-FC59k?si=RAAuO_Fu-BT8R2RF&t=21Fuck modern skateboarding, make skateboarding rad again.

Not OP but I’m having a hard time with it too. My problem is in my pop, I’m either jumping off the tail resulting in me getting air but the board only coming up 2-3 inches. Or when I try to jump first then pop as my body weight leaves the board it totally kills the power of my jump and I barely come off the ground
>>195506knowing the steps to a trick isnt the same as learing how to do the steps

So I've been trying to get the balls to attend a gym that does freestyle and Greco wrestling. It took a lot to go to it as I know it's the toughest sport, and I'm not "young". Twice now I have managed to gather up all my strength and start making my way to the gym, only for freak occurances (train literally going straight past the station, train being delayed for an hour) which left me unable to get there on timeI'm just wondering if any of you had the same sort of issues when you started training. Was the universe basically telling you to stay away but you persisted? Feel like im pushing my luck trying to go a third time lmaoThank you for reading
I take signs from God as they comeLike I have a few cars needing repairs laying around so my drive way is full and I have to park one on the street at night next to a hydrantBeen doing this for almost a year a this point and then 2 days ago a guy randomly comes to the front door and says "I see there's no plates on that jeep in the drive way, I'll give you $400" for itSo I sold it to him and now I can park in the drive way Then last night wouldn't you know it ther was something going on at the neighbors house and the fire department came and needed to use that hydrant which I had been blocking for months
>>195556Wow that's lucky. it's weird the universe didn't stop me from going to judo or BJJ even though I did not enjoy those and only went for three sessions yet wrestling it just seems to not even want to let me go once very weird. Maybe I'll get suplexed and dieded
That means you have to go now
>>195543where do you live that they actually teach wrestling to adults?
>>195671Not doxxing myself but near a major city, there are exactly 2 pure wrestling gyms (too far away for me) and 1 martial arts gym that does 2 wrestling classes a weekThere are MMA gyms located more frequently that do striking/bjj/wrestling but usually only one class a week and very expensive. It's rare here and I still have to travel close to an hour to reach my nearest oneAlso we don't have any school or college wrestling here.
